Cathedral Summer Solstice Labyrinth Week

June 20th - June24 th

“Walking the labyrinth is a spiritual discipline that invites us to trust the path,
to surrender to the many turns our lives take, and to walk through the confusion,
the fear, the anger, the grief, that we cannot avoid experiencing as we live our earthly lives.”
~ Lauren Artress, founder of Veriditas

The Cathedral’s labyrinth will be open this month from Monday, June20 th
to Friday, June24 th . We invite people of all faiths and spiritual disciplines
to experience a time for centering, contemplation, reflection and meditation.

On Friday evening a special “Music of the Labyrinth” presentation will take
place featuring The Rev. Clare Morgan, (they/them), an Anglican priest and Celtic
harpist living, working, and loving in stolen, unceded xʷməθkʷəyəm,
Skwxwú7mesh, and səllilwətaɁɬ territory. They serve as pastor to the St.
Brigid’s congregation at Christ Church Cathedral and as a musician among the
Inayati Sufi community in the Pacific Northwest. Clare has been playing in and
around Vancouver in a variety of settings both religious and secular since 2002.
They are passionate about music, preaching, chaplaincy, LGBTQIA/2S+
theology, Indigenous reconciliation, interfaith dialogue, and social justice
including prison abolition.

In acknowledgement that June is National Indigenous History Month and June
21 st is National Indigenous Peoples Day, all donations offered throughout the

What Are Labyrinths?
Labyrinths are an ancient prayer tool, used by many as a way to release the mind from the myriad of thoughts, and enter into a time of walking in silence and contemplation. For some, the twists and turns of the labyrinth represents the twists and turns of life, and walking the labyrinth can be a way to walk through all the things life throws at us. Whatever your faith or spiritual tradition, you are welcome to walk the labyrinth.
