Security at the CathedralAn Invitation to Offer Feedback During the lead-up to Easter Sunday, we began a one-month trial of having a security guard at the Cathedral. While we communicated directly with individual ministries affected by this change, we did not broadcast the decision to the general congregation through the Chronicle. We recognize that this should have been shared more broadly in advance, and we will ensure that future operational changes of this kind are communicated more clearly and promptly. The daytime security program was introduced in part because... [Click this link to share your feedback] For more infomation visit:

It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow in faith and connect with one another, even from the comfort of home. All are welcome to BYOB (Bring Your Own Bible) and join! Please email The Rev. Cookie Providers and/or Coffee Servers
Do you enjoy attending “Coffee Hour” each Sunday following the 10:30am Choral Eucharist Service? If your answer is “yes”, we’d like you to consider becoming an active participant in helping to continue our efforts to encourage people to meet one another, engage in conversation and share some simple refreshments. Many volunteers have been contributing for a long time, some have recently joined us. We are always pleased to welcome new recruits so that each participant knows they have the option of “stepping back” if their availability or circumstances change. On the next two Sundays—May 17th and May 24th, during Coffee Hour, if you might be interested in joining our efforts, learning about the ways you could contribute, I will be present and happy to answer any questions you might have. I’ll be wearing a name tag so that you will be able to identify me if you’d like to have a chat. Between now and the end of June, we have some dates where we need additional volunteers. I’m also starting a new roster for the months of July, August and September 2026 and would appreciate it if you could confirm your willingness to serve. I can also be reached at juliebauming@shaw.ca or by phone (604) 986-5389. Thank you for considering this request and I look forward to speaking to you soon. Crafting a Welcome: Preparing Rosaries for Visitors to the Cathedral
The Anglican Rosary Ministry (ARM) began in June 2025 in response to requests from Christ Church Cathedral visitors. Did we sell rosaries? We started small but managed to build a stockpile sufficient to begin selling rosaries in the Narthex. The proceeds from the sales are reinvested back into the ministry to purchase the supplies necessary to make the rosaries. Members volunteer the time spent creating each piece. The ARM needs volunteers to help make rosaries for the Cathedral. Rosaries are for sale by donation in the Cathedral Narthex, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. The ministry has space, supplies, and teachers ready to help anyone who would like to join the group and renew the rosary stockpile for sale during the busy tourist season and beyond! Rosary Ministry members meet once or twice a month in the Cathedral Park Room on a Saturday morning, 9:30am to 1pm. Members attend according to their availability. We would most gratefully welcome new members or donated, hand-made Anglican rosaries. To join us, please sign up here and select "Anglican Rosary Ministry (ARM)" from the list of ministries. Once you have registered, a member of the ARM will reach out to you with more information. |
