Coffee Hour to Take Place on the Plaza

When it comes to Pride, we reckon the weather’s just so much better in August for a proper outdoor party. Small Group Series on FaithJoin us for a 7-week faith formation series - Thursday, May 30, 2024 Join us for a small group 7-week series exploring core ideas in the Christian faith. We meet for an hour on Thursday evenings, from 7.30-8.30pm. This series is co-facilitated by Rev. Areeta Bridgemohan and Claude St-Denis. The last gathering will take place on Thursday, June 27th. We are hoping that some participants will be open to becoming facilitators of the series this fall. If you would like to participate, please contact Claude (claude@thecathedral.ca). Afghan Refugee Family Starts A New BusinessSubmitted by Rosalind Kellett The Father of the Afghan refugee family we sponsored, Dad Mohammadi, has started up a new business refurbishing and repairing car and furniture upholstery. Prayer Walk and PicnicSaturday, June 22, 2024 Join us for a gentle walk in Stanley Park, followed by a picnic in the shade of the trees by Lumbermen's Arch. We will meet at 10am by the concession stand. Bring comfortable shoes, appropriate weather gear, water bottle, lunch, something comfortable to sit on and, if you're feeling up to it, snacks to share! There is parking near our meeting point, as well as washrooms, a water fountain, a concession stand (so you can buy lunch too), and a splash pad not too far away. Documentary film screening: Philadelphia ElevenThe story of the first women priests in the U.S. Episcopal Church - Saturday, July 6, 2024 Join us to watch this documentary about a groundbreaking time in the Episcopal church (the Anglican Church in the U.S.). We will watch the film, have conversation about what we saw, and hear from leaders in the Anglican Church of Canada. They will share their reflections on the Canadian story and on women in church leadership in the Anglican Church today. The Kellett Family Love Sorrento CentreSubmitted by Jane Dittrich ODNW (Cathedral Rep to Sorrento Centre) Longtime Cathedral parishioners Rosalind Kellett (daughter of Margery Kellett, who recently celebrated her 102nd birthday!) and her husband Neale Adams exuberantly offered heartfelt thoughts on their many decades of attending Sorrento Centre, and its significance and importance to multiple generations of their family.
