Celebrating Choral Friendship This Sunday | Submitted by Bruce Hoffman

This Sunday the Cathedral Choir welcomes members of Elektra, EnChor, and Chor Leoni to the 10:30 Eucharist to celebrate some remarkable shared history together.

In April of 1999 the Cathedral Choir, Elektra, and Chor Leoni presented the (as far as we knew) Vancouver premiere of the Rachmaninov’s Vespers. We gave 2 performances, one at the Cathedral and another at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. (Both, predictably, sold out.)

Christ Church Cathedral parishioner Susanne Cruickshank ODNW is a former People’s Warden at the Cathedral, and she has faithfully served as a longtime multi-ministry lay person and in many capacities at the Cathedral. Susanne began writing her story with Sorrento Centre in 1965. She and then husband, the late Jim Cruickshank, began their journey with Sorrento that year with Jim being named as the founding director of the Centre. […]

The story of the first women priests in the U.S. Episcopal Church - Saturday, July 6, 2024

Join us to watch this documentary about a groundbreaking time in the Episcopal church (the Anglican Church in the U.S.).

We will watch the film, have conversation about what we saw, and hear from leaders in the Anglican Church of Canada.  They will share their reflections on the Canadian story and on women in church leadership in the Anglican Church today.

We will also have lemonade and light snacks.
