Maundy Café Summer Break: The last day of Maundy café before our summer break is Friday, July 24. We will reopen on Thursday, Sept 10.

Cathedral Coffee Hour: The Cathedral office is coordinating the Cookie and Coffee Hour details until a Hospitality Coordinator is commissioned. An important notice from Translink: Beginning July 21, 2026, the elevator serving Burrard Station will be closed for replacement and is expected to reopen in Spring 2027. 

If you require elevator access, please allow up to 20 minutes of extra travel time. Please visit translink.ca/elevators for full detour directions.

We are thrilled to announce that we will soon be receiving the beautiful Be Welcoming bronze sculpture by renowned Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz. Our installation will join other notable locations around the world hosting this piece, including St. Thomas in Canterbury.

Scheduled to arrive this August, this artwork will find its new home at our Burrard doors entrance. Inspired by Hebrews 13:2, the sculpture invites us to reflect on hospitality and seeing the sacred in the stranger.

While every other room in the Cathedral has windows, the nursery was the exception—until now! We’ve installed a brand-new window to ensure the space fully aligns with Safe Church guidelines. This simple update keeps our nursery safe, visible, and welcoming for our youngest members and their families.

One of the most satisfying ways to connect with friends is over a cup of tea or coffee. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to welcome newcomers and enjoy each other's company after several of the Sunday services held at the Cathedral.

The largest of these is the Coffee Hour held after every Sunday's 10:30am Eucharist, and we are in need of a leader to coordinate a team of experienced volunteers who offer their gifts to this vital ministry in our parish.

If you have been graced with the talent of hospitality or coordinating people and are willing to be considered for this role, please email Nicky at volunteer@thecathedral.ca for more information, or have a quick word with a member of the clergy team so they can pass your name along to her.

We all get mail. It comes in texts, emails, and sometimes in a lovely thank you card. Today, the Anglican Rosary Ministry wishes to thank the Cathedral congregation for your immense generosity and support.

We have received an abundance of gifts recently: lovely notes, donations of retired bead necklaces (which we transform into beautiful rosaries), monetary gifts, and rosaries for the ministry to sell by donation in the Narthex. Thank you!

We have also received the gift of time from our new, occasional, and permanent members. As coordinator, I wish to express my deepest appreciation for your work. This ministry depends entirely on your creativity and time. Thank you!

About Our Ministry
The group meets once or twice a month in the Park Room from 9:30am to 1:00pm on Saturday mornings. We work together, chat, and open and close with a prayer prepared by one of our members. Our planning and decisions are truly a group effort.

Did you know that we provide all the necessary tools for you to keep, so you can work at home if you wish? We provide plenty of help for newcomers; one of our members will be your teacher, and any of us can help you problem-solve.

Over the years, we have created magnificent rosary gifts from the Cathedral to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Canada’s Anglican Primate, our own P. Jane Osler, and to several of our clergy upon ordination or transfer.

St. Luke's Hospital in Nablus is a beacon of hope, providing life-saving care and serving as a crucial maternity hospital. St Luke's serves a population of 455,000 people, but daily power outages make safe care difficult.

The solution: bring light to St. Luke's - through the gift of the sun.

Alongside Hope is raising funds for solar panels, and the Wild Ride aims to fund 70 of them. One panel costs $865 (which includes installation, maintenance and other costs.) We want to raise $2000. Donations can be made here or by scanning the QR code on the poster above. 

We are taking on the “Watt’s Possible” challenge by: walking, cycling, running, embroidering and bringing all our talents to the fore!

Every dollar helps power neonatal care, oxygen machines, and essential services. Thanks to a generous donor, every gift to Light for St. Luke’s — including Wild Ride donations — will be matched dollar for dollar.

There's also a walk on August 29th at 10 a.m. that some members of the committee are doing. More information will be provided at coffee time after the 10:30 a.m. service on Sundays.
