Dear Friends in Christ,
Like many of you, Cathedral Clergy, Staff, and Lay Leaders were encouraged to hear the update from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry on March 10, 2022, in which she announced that certain public health requirements would be lifted in the near future. Of particular relevance to the Cathedral and other faith groups were her announcements regarding the province's mask mandate and vaccination passport programme, and capacity limits on faith gatherings.
Like all other Anglican parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster, the Cathedral's requirements around masks and checking vaccination passports are established at a Diocesan level. Bishop John Stephens issued a statement yesterday providing that parishes continue with the current guidelines and directives through this weekend. Therefore, for Sunday March 13 (Lent II), the Cathedral's requirements will remain unchanged. In the week ahead, it is expected that the Diocese will circulate new protocols which will apply to parishes going forward.
The Bishop's communication can be read in full

What does this mean this Sunday?
This Sunday if you wish to attend an in-person worship service you must show proof of vaccination. You must also wear a mask at all times while in the building.
We look forward to continuing on the journey towards a "new normal" and hope to see you again soon, in person.
