Christ Church Cathedral is the City’s cathedral. The building is used for worship by the parish community, but many other groups in the city use the Cathedral for various types of gatherings that serve to enrich the wider community. These are some ways community groups make use of the Cathedral:
The Cathedral plays host to many local, provincial and national calibre performers. West Coast Symphony Orchestra, Early Music Vancouver, and Musica Intima have performed at the Cathedral. The Cathedral has been given the accolade of the “best mid-sized performance venue in downtown Vancouver.” Our focus is on opening the Cathedral for more diverse audiences, for more of the day, leveraging our location and reputation in the city to gather more people in celebration of music and the arts. Inquire about booking the Cathedral for your music or arts event.
Various community groups have found in the Cathedral a welcoming, accessible space for small group meetings. We warmly welcome recovery groups and support groups, as well as other groups that offer the community opportunities to gather, learn, and grow together.
If you are having a wedding or funeral at the Cathedral and wish to hold a reception afterwards, please speak to the clergy assisting you with your event.
