Angus Stuart is a retired priest in the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster, having served as Rector of St. Francis-in-the-Wood, West Vancouver, from 2005 until his retirement in 2021. Prior to moving to Canada, he spent nine years as a chaplain at the University of Bristol in England. He served his curacy in the Diocese of London, where he was ordained as a deacon in 1993 and a priest in 1994. Angus trained for ministry at Cranmer Hall in Durham, following an earlier career as a researcher in social statistics at City University, London.
Since retiring, Angus has been blessed to remain active in ministry, serving several part-time interim terms at St. John the Apostle (Port Moody) and St. Catherine’s (North Vancouver). He also provides Sunday supply coverage for various parishes and is a regular celebrant at the midweek Eucharists at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver.
Angus is married to Christine, a retired teacher and administrator, and they have two adult children. To resist the tides of time in retirement, he maintains a regular practice of yoga, Pilates, and fitness training, alongside hiking in the North Shore mountains. When it's time to relax, Angus loves listening to his extensive record collection—mostly jazz and blues, heavily interspersed with Bob Dylan and vintage rock’n’roll.
