Vanessa Ho

Biography

I was born in Vietnam and came to Canada as a refugee in 1989. I am married and have two daughters along with two cats.  I attended Vancouver Community College for their Accounting & Computer Application Specialist courses for two years. After graduation from college, I worked at a for-profit company for 16 years before coming to work for the Cathedral.  I also took additional training to become a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP).

Once a month I volunteer with a small group in the Vietnamese community, organizing a gathering to help seniors socialize, celebrate birthdays and build community while maintaining and promoting Vietnamese culture and heritage to younger generations. 

What I do here

I am excited to be a part of the Cathedral team as a Finance Administrator providing financial information for this Parish. My work includes payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial statements preparation for monthly trustees meeting. I am responsible for annual receipting of donations from the parish and individual gifts that we receive here at Christ Church Cathedral.

I go to the Eileen Dailly Pool in North Burnaby every night after work to enjoy the whirlpool, sauna and steam room. I also enjoy swimming and participating in the Aquafit program. In my spare time (when there is some) I love to take ballroom dance classes.
