On August 16th, Anglican Rector Emilie Smith (St. Barnabas in NW) began a pilgrimage to COP30 in Belém, Brazil. She left from Coast Salish Territories and is travelling in a green, sustainable way by bus, boat, bike, train, and burro to attend the conference.
Emilie's pilgrimage is focusing on communities whose lives are being impacted by considerable climate change.
Her journey with multiple connections is bringing hope to disadvantaged people that their plights are known and will be brought to decision-makers. She is also representing all of us, carrying our concerns to the powerful.
Let's continue to pray for her well-being with our prayers and Light for her journey.
