Welcome to our new Children's Ministry Assistants!

I am pleased to announce that Elena Ilnitskaya and Kaka Felesia began as our new Children's Ministry Assistants on Sunday June 1st. For the month of June, they will be leading Godly Play at the 10.30am service and other children's ministry events. 

On Sunday June 15th at the 10.30am service we will bless and commission them for their new ministries at the Cathedral, after which we'll have a meet and greet during coffee hour. Please join me in warmly welcoming them.

Here is some information about Elena and a message from Kaka: 

Elena Ilnitskaya

Elena was born and raised in Kazakhstan and later immigrated to Russia, where she pursued her academic and professional journey in education and child development. With over 10 years of experience in educational field she has worked in diverse multilingual environments. Elena holds masters' degrees in Pedagogy, Linguistics and Cultural Studies.

Now based in Vancouver, Elena seeks to bring her passion for nurturing children’s spiritual, emotional and cognitive growth to the role of Children’s Ministry Assistant at Christ Church Cathedral.

Elena's husband, Muhammadsadegh (Nick) and her 2-year-old son, Daniel, are wonderful members of the Cathedral. 

A message from Kaka Felasia

Hi, I’m Kaka! I’m super excited to be part of the Children’s and Youth Ministry team here at The Cathedral. I love kids, listening to their stories, playing games, sharing laughs, and learning more about God together. Whether we’re doing crafts, planning fun events, or diving into Bible adventures, I’m all about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, safe, and seen. I believe every young person has something special to offer and I’m here to cheer them on as they grow in faith, confidence, and joy!
