Music is an integral part of the Cathedral’s rich liturgical life, and is expressed in a variety of ways each Sunday throughout the year.
10:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist — The Cathedral Choir, consisting of twenty-two talented volunteers and eight paid singers assist in worship leadership at this festive, intergenerational service.
4:00 p.m. Sundays at 4 - Evening prayer services with music in a variety of styles, including Choral Evensong, Holden Evening Prayer, Taizé, and Broadway Vespers.
8:00 p.m. Compline — The high and low voice groups alternately sing the office of Compline week by week.
Music at the Cathedral is led by Dr. Neil Cockburn, Music Director & Organist.
There are a number of volunteer opportunities to sing in a choir or vocal group at the Cathedral, including some that are suited to those with little or no previous choral experience, ranging through to the advanced-level Cathedral Choir. Each group has a different time commitment: the Cathedral Choir meets twice a week or more (and as often as daily during Holy Week); the other choirs have lighter schedules so they may be easier to fit within your routine.
