Pilgrimage has long been part of the Church’s way of forming faith—not as religious tourism, but as a disciplined attentiveness to place, prayer, and shared journey. In August 2026, Such a pilgrimage is offered: a small-group Christian journey through Scotland, shaped by the spiritual imagination of Celtic Christianity and led pastorally by Dean Christopher Pappas and Fr Ron Culmer.
This is not a tour with prayers added on. It is a pilgrimage designed for those who seek depth rather than spectacle, rhythm rather than hurry, and a form of travel that allows space for silence, conversation, worship, and reflection.
Over seventeen days, the pilgrimage will move through Scotland’s landscapes and historic centres, including extended time in places central to the Christian story of these islands. Alongside lochs, highlands, and ancient cities, the journey will include time on Lindisfarne and Iona—sites that continue to shape Christian prayer, theology, and mission across traditions.
Traveling as a small group allows the pilgrimage to move at a humane pace. The journey is pastorally led, with attention to both individual experience and shared life, and is designed to support spiritual renewal rather than constant activity.
This pilgrimage may be especially meaningful for those who are drawn to:
Sacred place and Christian history
Celtic Christian spirituality
Shared rhythm and unhurried travel
Thoughtful companionship and pastoral leadership
A form of formation that engages heart, mind, and body
No prior experience with pilgrimage is required—only a willingness to travel attentively.
