This Sunday, we are thrilled to welcome The Rev. Canon Dr. Kara Slade as our guest preacher! Dr. Slade is a leading voice at the intersection of faith, ethics, and contemporary culture. She currently serves as the Associate Rector at Trinity Church in Princeton, Canon Theologian of the Diocese of New Jersey, and Director of the Concentration in Episcopal and Anglican Studies at Princeton Theological Seminary. She brings an incredibly unique background to her ministry.
Prior to her ordination, she earned her first PhD in mechanical engineering and materials science from Duke University, working as a NASA research engineer and test manager. She later returned to Duke to complete her second PhD in Christian theology and ethics, where her research focused on Karl Barth, Søren Kierkegaard, and the ethics of science, technology, and medicine. Today, she is also a professed member of the Community of the Good Shepherd, within the Anglican Communion.
