Sermon starts at 33:26

Having talked this through, I invite us to hear Jesus’ hard words not as threat but as invitation. He is not asking us to despise our families, or to throw away every last possession. He is asking us to count the cost and see that following him is worth more than anything else we might cling to. And, having done that, we need to loosen our group on things that bind us and make room for what he is offering.

This Season of Creation, may we learn to hold our possessions lightly. May we be stewards, not owners. May we discover the freedom that comes with letting go. And may we walk with Christ, carrying his cross, but also carrying the hope of new creation in our hands. A new creation that transforms this world and all in it.
