Mind the gap

(Sermon begins at 39:20)

" ... Where does the leadership for the ministry of this Cathedral come from? ...

And above all else, it comes from God.

It comes from God in the form of the people who come through our doors seeking an encounter with the sacred,

it comes from God in the form of the changing landscape of our neighbourhood,

it comes from God in the form of the history of the land that we worship on,

it comes from God in the form of neighbours who want to walk with us,

it comes from God in the form of the story of our community and our identity,

it comes from God in the form of the gifts and relationships that each one of you offers and places on the Holy table for the betterment of this community and the world around us,

it comes from the breath and energy of the Spirit that can do more than we can ask or imagine."

A note from Rev. Areeta: I am grateful to the many conversation partners that shaped my thinking in the process of preparing for this National Indigenous Day of Prayer.
