Dear Siblings in Christ,

Recently Children's Ministry Assistants, Kaka Felasia and Amelie Dutra, and I completed some Godly Play training.

Godly Play is a Montessori-based children's formation program designed to both teach and leave lots of space for wondering and reflection on the deep well of our sacred stories and ancient Christian tradition.

On Sunday March 1st, the children's ministry team (myself included), will be telling a Godly Play story as the sermon at the 8am service and the 10.30am service. Children will be invited up to the Chancel (the 'stage') to gather to hear the story. Grownups will be invited to remain in their seats.

In order to facilitate inclusion of the community seated in the pews, we will have a screen and projector set up. The congregation seated in the chairs/pews will see still images from the Godly Play story. The screen and projector will be removed at the sharing of Christ's peace.

We hope that this experience of Godly Play will offer everyone a small taste of this contemplative approach to Christian formation. Our hope is that you may fall in love with it as a way to nurture children's amazing gift of spirituality and as a way to connect with your own childlike spirituality.

I am grateful for our walk with the Spirit that invites us to try new things so that we may encounter more of God's innumerable faces.

Your sister in Christ,
